Statement of Purpose

The Best AI Awards aims to showcase a diverse range of innovative AI applications that drive industry development and cultivate talent for businesses. The competition features two categories: AI Applications and IC Design. Participants are encouraged to submit proposals featuring innovative ideas with strong potential for real-world industry adoption.

Competition Categories

AI Application

  • This category accepts proposal IDEAS utilizing AI technologies, such as Generative AI or Discriminative AI, to develop innovative applications or services.

IC Design

  • This category accepts proposal IDEAS integrating AI technology into IC design or applications, leveraging innovative technological approaches.
※Encourage contestants to use open source platform, such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, Hugging Face, etc.

Eligibility

  1. The competition is open to professionals from ICT industry, academia, and research sectors, participating either as individuals or in teams. Each team may have 1 to 8 members.
  2. Participants must be foreign nationals (non-Taiwanese citizens).

Awards and Prizes

  1. Winning teams are awarded award certificates issued by the organizer.
  2. Winning teams must attend the award ceremony and networking event in-person in Taiwan. The organizer will provide travel subsidies for two team members per team, covering international round-trip flight and four-nights of accommodation (May 19-23, 2025).

Silver (1 team): NTD 700,000
Bronze (1 team): NTD 500,000
Honorable Mention (2 teams): NTD 200,000

Evaluation Process

(A) Selection Process

Preliminary Round (Proposal Review)

Teams will be evaluated based on submitted documents, including the Project Description file and the Project Introduction Video. No attendance required.

Final Round (Online Presentation)
  1. Teams will be evaluated based on their online presentation.
  2. Each team is given 13 minutes total; including 6 minutes for presentation and 7 minutes for Q&A.
  3. Final Round date: April 29, 2025 (Tue).

Registration Process

Step 1

Visit the Best AI Awards official website, go to the Registration page, and complete online registration.

Step 2

 Upload the required documents:

  • Appendix C: Project Description (Word File)
  • Supporting Documents: Proof of foreign nationality (passport or national ID copy)
  • 3-Minute Project Introduction Video:
    The video should be uploaded to YouTube as “Unlisted.” Please submit the URL to the unlisted video in the registration form.

Registration Process

Competition Rules

  1. Participating teams agree to abide by all competition guidelines and decisions made by the organizer, including evaluation criteria and results.
  2. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify teams and revoke awards, including prize money and certificates, under the following circumstances:
    • Submission of false or misleading information.
    • Plagiarism, unauthorized use, or infringement of patents, proprietary technologies, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights.
    • Conduct that disrupts the competition or unfairly impacts other teams.
    • Violation of any competition rules or regulations.
    • Submitting multiple entries from the same team or submitting the same project under different team names or members.
    • Failure to comply with registration procedures or incomplete submission of required materials.
  3. After registration, team members may not be changed, nor may new members be added.
  4. Teams are responsible for managing internal roles, including prize distribution. The organizer will not intervene in any internal disputes.
  5. Winning teams must participate in media interviews and promotional events and provide materials (e.g., project summary, video) for non-commercial use, both domestically and internationally.
  6. The organizer reserves the right to adjust award numbers, modify event details, and announce changes on the official website.
  7. Prize recipients are subject to taxation according to Taiwan's tax laws (foreign nationals: 20%). Winners must complete all necessary tax forms before receiving their prize. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the award.
  8. Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of all terms and conditions.
  9. The organizer reserves the right to amend the competition rules as necessary and will announce updates on the competition website. Participants are responsible for staying informed about any changes.
